Zenpundit endorses Newt Gingrich for 2008:
I’m endorsing Gingrich simply because it will be healthy to have a candidate on stage who actually reads books and takes ideas with enough seriousness to effectively communicate them to a mainstream audience. Win or lose, Gingrich’s intellectual presence and inclination toward impulsive, rhetorical bomb-throwing will disrupt the hyperscripted performance of everyone else, something that will be all to the good.
He makes a good case. A Newt Run will increase the quality (hopefully) of the debate of issues and the campaign will be much more interesting.
I don’t think he will or should be president though.
I would like to seem be the part of any moderate or conservative coming in in 1/2009 as either of:
- Domestic Policy Adviser to the President (same level/access as the National Security adviser)
- White House Counselor (a sort of Cabinet Secretary Without Portfolio – Idea Man and Sounding Board to the President)
I am not saying I wouldn’t vote for him, but I think there must be better options.
Update: More being discussed atTDAXP.
Updates 12/3/2006: Wesley Clark? Is this what the Dems have to offer the country? Jeez. I have no confidence in this guy – having listened to his “analysis” on cable new shows.
J ohn Kerry Redux? Kerry sucks. He is a blowhard – empty vessel/shell. He talks with gravitas in his voice and executive hair. But he devoid of substance and ideas. He is the opposite of substance. He is why for the first time I ever, I voted for a republican for president.

I have hopes for Bill Gates to emerge as one of the first true 5GW Grand Social Entrepreneurs.
