  1. Being more merciful, I support the death penalty.

  2. Purple, this is why so many people call for Peace. They want a Peace Dividend that they can then funnel to their vote buying schemes and pork barrel.

They cut off funding to South Vietnam and you can be sure they slept soundly at night after that. So long as they got what they wanted in terms of vote buying funds that could be funneled from taxpayer money, everybody is happy.

It is only in peacetime or in times of fiscal prosperity that people like Madoff can bloom and prosper. When war comes and funds have to be diverted to such unnecessary things as national security or when the wheels come off a financial boom, then the roaches start coming out from under their hiding spots.

This is why it is so important to have Peace, Purple, to get that much sought after Peace Dividend.

It is also why, ironically, pacifists say the military-industrial complex does the same thing in war that the Left want to do in peace. It is a nice cover up in case their motives are questioned too hard.

  3. There will always be suckers that can be conned.

Madoff went after elites who thought they could benefit from Madoff’s logic-defying secret knowledge/skills.

The problem with the elites is that while they might be smart, they are not as smart as they think they are, and they cannot no everything about a complex system.

I wrote elsewhere at some blog that the roots of the Madoff scandal and that of the elite’s preference for central planning come from the same place – the elites flawed view of their own intelligence and entitlement.

  5. I think that everything posted was very reasonable. But, consider this,
suppose you were to create a killer title? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your website, but suppose you added a title that makes people desire more? I mean Misleading Headline on the Madoff scandal that I wish was true | PurpleSlog – Just Another Cheesehead is kinda boring. You ought to peek at Yahoo’s front page
and see how they create post titles to grab viewers to click.
You might add a related video or a related picture or two to grab
people interested about what you’ve got to say. In my opinion, it might make your posts a little livelier.
