Link – “The Megamerge Dissolution Solution” – Great article on USAv3 (aka USAv2 + Mexico)

Read it here.

It is long and fun to read. More importantly, it comes more ground with how a USAv3 would look and makes it quite exciting!

Here are Three excerpts:

Never fear, a satisfying, comprehensive solution is within reach: the Megamerge Dissolution Solution. Simply dissolve the border along with the failed Mexican government, and megamerge the two countries under U.S. law, with mass free 2-way migration eventually equalizing the development and opportunities permanently, with justice and without racism, and without threatening U.S. sovereignty or basic principles.

And forget about English being the only official language except for maybe the proceedings of the U.S. Congress, if even that. Nobody can force you to switch from English to Spanish, we got computers that can translate for us already, and Spanish is easy to learn, since it’s absorbed a zillion American words anyway, and is simpler and more logical, try it, they got gorgeous blonde babes in South America for you white racists to make passes at, and all young Spanish-speaking men and women have something to teach gringos about being laid-back and happy without selling out to the rat race, pass the Corona and lime, you have a date with a Disney dummy. Obviously, even after the megamerge the English speakers will far outnumber the Spanish speakers, and will have the lure of jobs and opportunity to attract them into learning English, so don’t get scared, get glad, our children will all have better computers than we do.

The Extreme South would be like the Great American West used to be, sorry, I’m a historyscoper and love to make historical arguments, a new land of opportunity for white and all the other rainbow of Americans to find a new beginning, and instead of a flood going north, which we already have now, there would more likely be a flood of migration to the south, no passports anymore, it’s all one country, we’re all fellow citizens, just think think thank and grow rich. And after children are born there, as genuine Americans, and think of it as their home, the old border that was holding their parents back will seem like a dead dinosaur of the antiquated dumbass past, I miss you mom, hello? And no, not all gringos like each other, anymore than all Mexicans like each other, that’s why we have 50 states and they have 31, you already picked the one of your choice, including the umpteen million who voted with their feet to crash the U.S.-Mexico border, so after the megamerge there will still be plenty of pockets in all the states for incorrigible village racists of all stripes, right ese, who are the Wachowski brothers? But we will all be under the same federal laws and love our country and flag and want to participate in its democracy and fight for it, try messing with us now Osama and Imadinnajacket, Americans have already figured out that their village racism fades fast when they’re sharing foxholes, who walks around and says I’m a liberal I’m a liberal I had my first orgasm during the Democratic Convention?

  1. A good idea, but I fear with our current government, we will be lucky to avoid new protectionism. I don’t see movement for expanding trade under Obama beyond what was envisioned by Bush, if that.

  2. He won’t be president for ever. Good ideas need time to get people used to them. As down as I am right now on the American economy and politics, I know that this to shall pass.

  3. I thought about a similar idea back in HS….except it was Canada and not Mexico.

  4. The advantages are not as much with Canada joining USAv3, but I am okay with them as well.

  5. Hey, USAv3, I like the term. Don’t be so fast to give up. The Megamerge Dissolution Solution can be implemented in only 5 years if politicians get behind it. It’s not a Democratic, Republican or any other proposal, but an evolutionary proposal for the U.S. to solve its 160-year Apartheid of browns in Mexico, with 750K new sq. mi. of U.S. territory in exchange for U.S. citizenship and the abolition of the corrupt Mexican govt. It should have been done long ago, and may not be done for a few years, but will always be the solution, and the longer we wait, the more lost opportunities and wasted resources, plus the more injustices and grudges to have to heal. I know that Obama would go with it if he saw a popular movement on both sides of the border clamoring for it, so why wait?

I just want to launch the idea into the public consciousness with a common article everybody can reference, then hope that politicians adopt it, after which all I can hope is that they don’t pervert it 🙂

Help me launch the MMDS by emailing your friends and politicians to get them to read it. With the speed of the Internet, by 2010 there might be enough waves to make it happen, why not?

    Ciao.

  6. TL: Estas Loco Wey! Mexican people are fiercely nationalistic, and separate their corrupt government and society from the “greatness” of their country. They know it sucks in their country, they know the police and politicians are hopelessly corrupt, they know the system is designed to grind the poor and keep them there … but they still think their country is much better than the US. Hell, Futbol proves that! So, nice going … but you might want to consider that the Mexican people would be the last to go for such an idea. They have their cake (jobs, free health care, Telemundo) and can eat it too (Western Union, Futbol Mexicano) … No tienes una clue, lo siento TL.

How about letting the Mexican people decide that?
It’s called a referendum. It still takes the U.S. Congress to make the first move and officially invite them and lay out terms. After that the Mexican people can decide if they want to go on with their failed sawed-off country with no real heritage other than the kaput Aztecs and the Spanish Conquistadors, or join the Bliss as 10+ new states as full U.S. citizens with all the perks plus U.S. military protection, U.S. passports, federal minimum wage laws, the benies are virtually endless, that’s why over 10% of the Mexican pop. has already gone through Hell just to crash the border, and probably 50% more would like to. Only a few hardcore nationalists and some elite fatcats will have anything to lose, who cares?

As I said in my article, if the Mexican people actually vote no, it will be their greatest mistake, but the offer will still be on the table, trust me, the answer’s out there, we just gotta keep looking, I found the answer, my name’s TLW the Historyscoper 🙂

      • T.L.

You need to be thinking about laying a groundwork to move people (Americans and Mexicans) who disagree with the MegaMerge idea to a an agreeable or at least neutral position.

Otherwise, this is nothing more then a intellectual exercise.

To start, it might be a good idea to think about the different classifications/reason people are against it.

  7. Monty, thanks for the thoughtful post.

Mexican people are fiercely nationalistic, and separate their corrupt government and society from the “greatness” of their country.

The above would be the greatest impediment to a USAv3 (USAv2 + Mexico).

So, those of wanting USAv3 will need to start laying the groundwork (heh…5GW) now.

This would not be a takeover. Everbody will be better off for it.

  8. http://www.guyanausa.org/

Guyana, formerly known as British Guiana, is located on the north-east coast of South America. Guyana is 82,978 square miles in area, slightly smaller than the state of Idaho. Similarly to the original Thirteen American Colonies, Guyana was once a British Colony. English is the official language of Guyana and is spoken by 99% of the population.

Due mainly to emigration to the USA, Guyana’s population growth is in the negative. Only 650,000 people remain in Guyana. According to some studies, of those people who remain in Guyana, almost each and every one of them is awaiting the issuance of an immigrant-visa for the USA!

More than 350,000 Guyanese people have already immigrated to the USA! Truly a massive immigration. Over 100,000 Guyanese have become United States citizens. The other 250,000 may become citizens upon fulfilling the statutory requirements of naturalization. The overwhelming majority of these individuals support the legal incorporation of Guyana into the USA, in the form of US Statehood, Commonwealth or Territory of the USA. That newly created legal entity would be known as Guyana, USA. Take a look at the New Guyana Flag!

The advantages derived from American territoriality are many: especially in the areas of culture, technology, science, scientific discovery, drug-interdiction, education, economics, tourism, sports, religion, the environment, the protection of natural resources and the rain forest; and to the overall security of both the USA and Guyana and to the improvement of the quality of life of all the people of both Guyana and the USA.
